In this part of the course we are asked to separate light out as a separate component of the image. Obviously without light there would be no photograph and there are an infinite number of ways in which a photograph can be lit. This section of the course is consequently quite broad and it will take some time to work through the different types of lighting required to meet the requirements of the exercises. Some types of lighting require patience, such as waiting for a sunset, whereas others can be manufactured by using a flash or bouncing light from a reflector. Brightness, the various colour of light both natural and artificial and how we can modify both of these types of light are all covered in this section of the course.
