Having finally completed the first part of the course and also my first assignment I am now moving on the Part Two: Elements of Design.
This part of the course introduces the basic principles of graphic design used in photography.
In this part I will be looking more closely at how a photograph is made up, beyond perhaps what the main subject of the image may be. Fundamentally a photograph is made up of tiny dots of different tones which join together to make a whole. As suggested in the course material, I will be using monochrome in this part, as colour may be a distraction from what I am looking at - points, lines and shapes. I will also be looking at how these elements interact within the image and how the placement, number of elements and interactions between elements affects the complexity of the image.
